YOUR GRILL GOES EVERYWHERE NOW
It’s time for Summer grilling, and we all know that means grilling everywhere you go. The only problem with your backyard grill is… well, it stays in the backyard. The Hitchfire F-20 solved that, and Men's Journal just named it the best portable grill of 2026.
It’s time for Summer grilling, and we all know that means grilling everywhere you go.
The only problem with your backyard grill is… well, it stays in the backyard. The Hitchfire F-20 solved that, and Men's Journal just named it the best portable grill of 2026.
Here's what you're looking at...
WHAT’S A “HITCHFIRE”?
The Hitchfire F-20 is a two-burner propane grill that mounts directly to your vehicle's 2-inch hitch receiver. Swing it out 180 degrees, hook up the propane, and you're cooking with 20,000 BTUs across 355 square inches of cooking surface. That's backyard grill levels of output (no offense to your current backyard grill, bro.)
Build: This bad boy is made of seriously high-quality stainless and powder-coated steel. Why? Well, because duh, it’s built to take a beating in transit. And you’re going to want it last more than one season.
Setup: It has some impressive foldout prep tables included, which is always a plus at a campsite with limited table space. Oh, and those small Coleman canisters work, or you can use a 20-pound tank with the adapter hose for longer cooks.
Clearance: The mount swings 180 degrees, so you have full access to the back of the vehicle with the grill deployed. That’ll be useful when the kids keep forgetting things in the trunk while you’re trying to grill in peace…
WHO IS IT FOR?
If you plan to spend any time outside this summer, and you've been making do with a foldout Coleman or skipping the grill entirely, this is the rig you need to check out right about now. Or at least something like this.
It's not light (25 pounds), but once it's mounted, you don't move it. It lives on the hitch. You just deploy it when you park.
GRILL ANYWHERE
Most portable grills make compromises on performance. But mounting to the hitch replicates a backyard grill experience instead of sitting on a table like a camping toy. And something about that feels like an extreme difference…
Men's Journal tested the full field of 2026 portables, and this one came out on top. Read the full review before your weekend camping trip.
And whether you pick up this portable or some other on-the-go grill, just find the one that works for you. Because being on the go shouldn’t mean sacrificing a delicious dead meat meal…
What do you think, Dead Meat Society? Is the hitch-mounted grill the move, or does your current portable already do the job?
