Can money fix your grilling problems? Potentially...
You know what? Life is hard. We’ve all got problems we deal with on a daily basis. And how do we cope? Well, we grill, of course.
You know what? Life is hard. We’ve all got problems we deal with on a daily basis. And how do we cope? Well, we grill, of course.
But what if the grilling itself becomes stressful? Overcooking that expensive prime steak, finding wire bristles in a chicken breast, using terrible charcoal… nightmare fuel.
But today, you’re in luck because we’re diving into some grilling problems that you can literally just BUY your way out of with a few useful tools.

Thanks to Food & Wine, several pitmasters came together to share common mistakes we’re all making on the grill (and how they can be solved by throwing money at them).
Let’s check out a few of the top highlights:
Problem: Overcooked Meat
There’s nothing like getting ready to dig into that Friday night prime ribeye you’ve been waiting for, only to cut in and see that it’s completely overdone single tear rolls down cheek.
Solution: Get a better thermometer. This one is on sale, apparently…
Problem: Flimsy Tongs
Listen up: grill marks matter. And if you’re moving around big cuts of meat with sh*tty tongs, you’re going to ruin your final aesthetic.
Solution: Kind of obvious, but get some better tongs! Food & Wine recommends these.
Problem: Too Much Heat
Not all grills are made equal. Some of them just have a grate-depth that is way too small. If needed, you can upgrade to fix that problem.
Solution: Get yourself an upper deck grill grate.
